Comcast has passed out promotions to Lynn Charytan, Jennifer Khoury and Marcien Jenckes, and hired newcomer Ed Brassel to a newly created job.
After previously serving as senior vice president and general manager of video services for Comcast Cable, Jenckes has been promoted to executive vice president, consumer services.
Jenckes head’s up the company’s newly formed consumer services group, which combined all of Comcast Cable’s consumer business units; video, Internet, phone and home. He reports to Dave Watson, executive vice president and chief operating officer, Comcast Cable.
“Marcien (Jenckes) is an exceptional leader who has been a driving force behind the evolution of our video business,” Watson said. “His operational expertise, combined with his digital and entrepreneurial background, makes him uniquely positioned for this job and I am confident that the consolidation of our products under Marcien’s leadership will bring significant benefits to our customers and our business.”
In his previous role at Comcast Cable, Jenckes was responsible for all aspects of the company’s video business, which serves Xfinity TV subscribers. He oversaw servcies such as: Xfinity Streampix; Xfinity On Demand, XFINITY.com/TV and Xfinity TV on the Xbox 360; and through Xfinity TV and Player apps. Jenckes also led the roll out of Comcast’s next generation X1 platform .
Before joining Comcast, Jenckes was president of the media and content divisions of Grab Networks, a Virginia-based online video syndication network, having previously served as the CEO of Voxant, which merged with Anystream in 2008 to form Grab Networks.
He also served as senior vice president of messaging, community and voice at AOL, where he oversaw major product lines, including AIM and ICQ.
Brassel hired for business intelligence, data analysis role
Brassel joined Comcast Cable as senior vice president, business intelligence and data analysis. He reports to Comcast Cable CEO Neil Smit.
In his new job, Brassel is tasked with driving the overall business growth of the company through the utilization and interpretation of its data assets to aid in decision making and strategic planning.
“We created this role to take advantage of data assets at Comcast,” Smit said. “Ed (Brassel) brings a deep analytic background to Comcast and understands the industries we lead. Ed and his team will provide a greater understanding of consumer dynamics which will inform our business decisions and help us build more customer-centric products and services.”
With more than 25 years of experience in marketing, strategy and business analytics, Brassel most recently served as senior vice president, marketing and business analytics at DirecTV, managing all aspects of subscriber analytics and audience measurement.
He has also held various marketing and analytics roles with Brierly+Partners, Omnicom, H.J. Heinz Company and R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company.
Khoury, Charytan upped to senior vice president positions
Comcast promoted Khoury to senior vice president, corporate and digital communications while Charytan was promoted to senior vice president, legal regulatory affairs and senior deputy general counsel.

Her deep experience, professionalism and unique ability to navigate complex issues have made her an indispensable member of our Washington office and our company.”
As head of the legal regulatory group, Charytan is responsible for providing corporate-wide legal advice on regulatory matters and overseeing the company’s legal regulatory advocacy, including filings in federal and state regulatory proceedings and related litigation and appeals.
She also oversees compliance with the regulatory requirements related to the NBCUniversal transaction.
Prior to joining Comcast in three years ago, Charytan was a partner at WilmerHale, where she served as the chair of the communications, privacy and Internet law practice group. During her more than 17 years with the firm, she advised clients on telecommunications, privacy and Internet-law matters. Before joining WilmerHale, Ms. Charytan worked for two years as in-house counsel to The Washington Post.
Khoury leads all strategic communications for Comcast’s consumer products, in addition to media relations, social media and digital communications for the company’s corporate brand.
She previously served as vice president of corporate communications for Comcast and as vice president of public relations for Comcast Cable’s New England region. Prior to joining the cable industry, she worked in consulting for ML Strategies, a strategic consulting company of Mintz Levin.
