A voluminous source of multiscreen content has come available to a wider set of viewers with NBC Sports Group’s initiation of streaming live video to a set of multichannel video program distributors (MVPDs). The service is available to authenticated subscribers of Cablevision, Comcast Xfinity TV, Suddenlink and Verizon FiOS.
NBC Sports Group said additional cable, satellite and telco providers are expected to soon be able to offer the service, called NBC Sports Live Extra.
The 2013 NBC Sports Network live-event programming roster includes the remainder of the NHL regular season, the Stanley Cup Playoffs and Final; Premier League and Major League Soccer matches; Formula One and IndyCar races; horse racing that surrounds the Triple Crown; and more.

Golf Channel has been live streaming PGA TOUR events since January 2013 via TV Everywhere on Golf Live Extra.
Cablevision, Comcast Xfinity TV, Suddenlink and Verizon FiOS customers are the first to receive NBC Sports Network content, with more to come. NBC, NBC Sports Network and Golf Channel plan to stream more than 4,000 hours and 1,000 events and programs in 2013.
