AT&T has renamed its U-verse Live TV app, now calling it Mobile TV.
In a blog post [1] yesterday, the carrier announced the change that will go along with improved video quality on LTE, direct billing to subscriber accounts and an even $9.99 charge for the service across the board.
AT&T previously charged up to $11.99 for the service depending on what OS a subscriber's smartphone used.
Mobile TV allows users to watch live content from providers like ESPN, Disney, ABC and NBC Sports. It also offers on-demand content from Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon and A&E with premium mini packages like Playground TV, Urban Zone and Paquete en Español Móvil for $4.99 each.
The changes to AT&T's mobile TV service comes just two months after Verizon elected to pull the plug on its similar Verizon Video (formerly VCast) service.
