Time Warner Cable executive vice president and CTO Mike LaJoie will be the keynote speaker at next month's SCTE Canadian Summit 2012 in Toronto.
According to the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers, LaJoie will speak about the need for cable engineering and operations professionals to maximize the value of new technologies as part of the March 27 opening session of the SCTE Canadian Summit. The Wireless Symposium precedes the two-day Canadian Summit on March 26.
"Mike LaJoie's philosophical approach and technical vision have consistently kept the cable industry on the forward edge of innovation," said Tony Faccia, vice president of wireline access networks for Rogers Communications and program chair for SCTE Canadian Summit 2012. During his tenure as CTO and executive vice president of advanced technology with Time Warner Cable, LaJoie has been responsible for supporting new product development, identifying new technology applications and formative product ideas, and representing Time Warner Cable on all industry standards activities.
Prior to his current roles, he served as vice president of corporate development for Time Warner Entertainment's Time Warner Cable division, overseeing the development of VOD software and set-top boxes and other major launches of new services and products.
The SCTE Canadian Summit and the Wireless Symposium will feature the expertise of dozens of industry thought leaders, as well as Canadian Summit exhibits of products and platforms.
