Effective next Monday, Comcast has hired Rebecca Arbogast  as its vice president for global public policy.
Arbogast currently serves as a managing director at Stifel Financial, where she focuses on legal and regulatory issues affecting communications, media and technology industries.
At Comcast, Arbogast will oversee the development and coordination of the company's public policy efforts across the corporation. Arbogast will be located in Comcast's government affairs office in Washington, D.C., and will report to Kyle McSlarrow, president of Comcast/NBCUniversal for Washington, D.C.

Arbogast joined the Stifel Nicolaus Research Team in 2005 when Stifel acquired Legg Mason's Capital Markets Group. She joined Legg Mason in 2001 from the Federal Communications Commission. At the FCC, she served as chief of the International Bureau Telecommunications Division.
Prior to joining the FCC in 1997, Arbogast served in the Office of Legal Counsel of the U.S. Department of Justice and began her legal career as a corporate attorney with Wilmer, Cutler and Pickering.
Arbogast holds a law degree from Yale Law School and a master's degree from the University of Iowa. She has taught constitutional law at Johns Hopkins School of Public Policy and Global Communications at American University. She clerked for Judge Fletcher on the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals and was a Fulbright Fellow in European Community Law.
