Cox Business, a division of Cox Communications, has promoted Jeremy Bye as vice president of wholesale and national accounts.
Bye has led the network and Cox Business operations teams in the company's Virginia market since 2009. He originally joined Cox's New England system in 2002, where he led carrier access and service delivery operations.
In his new job, Cox said Bye would oversee all wholesale sales, sales operations and technical support functions. He is also responsible for growing and managing the base of national account customers purchasing retail services from Cox on a market-wide basis.
"Wholesale services represent aggressive growth opportunities within Cox Business, as carriers seek reliable local network connectivity and upgrade and expand wireless networks to accommodate explosive consumer data usage," said Phil Meeks, senior vice president of Cox Business. "Jeremy's 21 years of leadership and operational experience will help ensure the proper assessment, implementation and ongoing service delivery for these top-tier customers."
Cox has been at the forefront of business services for years, and it has set its sights on increasing commercial services revenue. Cox Business wholesale revenues grew approximately 30 percent in 2011 and represent more than $100 million of Cox Business' $1 billion total annual revenue stream. Cox said Bye's leadership was expected to generate consistent, aggressive double-digit growth to help Cox Business double its total revenue in six years.
Bye began his telecommunications career with New York Telephone/NYNEX and Verizon. There he led engineering, construction, voice switching, installation and repair, and special service teams. He also served as staff director of operations assurance and process integration, where he drove fulfillment improvement initiatives and managed carrier-to-carrier metric quality as director of wholesale and retail quality assurance.
