Federal Communications Commission Chairman Julius Genachowski has agreed to participate in the general session of the upcoming NCTA Cable Show.
Genachowski will no doubt address how the FCC is going about cleaning up the network neutrality "mess" the current FCC inherited, as he put it at a recent event sponsored by the Commonwealth Club of California (see this Fortune transcript ).
Other topics will no doubt include the forthcoming FCC report on broadband competitiveness in the U.S. and the ongoing saga around additional spectrum auctions. The industry will no doubt be happy to avoid bringing up the rationale for allowing the Comcast NBC/Universal merger, now a fait accompli.
The Cable Show's general session is scheduled for June 15. The session also will be streamed live on the Internet.
The Cable Show 2011 will take place June 14-16 at McCormick Place in Chicago.
