Amino Communications said it will debut its latest line of IPTV set-top boxes, as well as a hybrid/OTT (over-the-top) media center, next month.
The company will be skipping Cable-Tec Expo but will demonstrate the new systems at TelcoTV 2010 in Las Vegas Nov. 10-11.
The company will be demonstrating various boxes running a range of middleware, as well as the company's revised Freedom OTT media center, including a new user interface the company said will be showcased for the first time in the U.S.
The new products include:
- The Amino A129: an MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 standard-definition IP STB for entry-level deployments
- The Amino A140: an MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 high-definition IP STB in a compact case
- The Amino A540 PVR: a HD high-performance STB with integral PVR
- The Amino H140: an MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 high-definition IP STB for the hospitality market.
The Amino Freedom, meanwhile, is another member in the Intel TV/Google TV universe; it features the Intel Atom processor (CE4100) and was designed specifically to deliver OTT video.
Amino CEO Andrew Burke said: "With OTT being a key theme of the show, we're also showcasing our Amino Freedom hybrid/OTT media center. We showed a prototype at last year's show, which drew enormous interest, and we're delighted to bring the commercial product here this year with a range of improvements, including our dynamic new user interface."
