Under the extension, Cox will continue to define and manage legacy and forthcoming IP services using Sigma's Service Management Platform (SMP). The MSO will also upgrade its existing Sigma OSS platform to the 3.0 release of SMP, which offers enhanced subscriber entitlement management, order management and service provisioning and activation capabilities.
Cox has used Sigma's OSS platform since 2000. Today, the company uses it to manage its high-speed data, circuit-switched telephony and VoIP services.
"Sigma's Service Management Platform's scalable and configurable architecture enables Cox to reduce the amount of time it takes to configure, deploy and manage innovative broadband, multimedia and telephony services across our nationwide network," said Cox Director of Data Products and Services Mark Yang, in a release.
