2NetFX and Avolo will be demonstrating their HDTV technology for the aviation industry at the upcoming National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) show, April 21 - 26 in Las Vegas. 2NetFX develops media streaming technology and Avolo provides aviation parts and aerospace applications.
With an eye on offering passengers more than coffee or tea, the two companies have developed high-definition television technology for viewing entertainment at 33,000 feet. The standard includes high-resolution video and DVD-quality sound. And to give it a realistic feel, the HDTV-over-IP technology will be demonstrated in real airline seats in booth E-5545.
According to the companies, several airlines are interested in delivering HDTV programming to airline seat monitors, laptops or PC tablets via Ethernet or to HDTV sets in first- and business-class cabins.
