Intecom debuts enterprise communications path from circuit switched to IP telephony
Intecom is introducing a new product called PointSpan that provides a migration path for advanced circuit-switched communications and IP telephony. PointSpan is the core technology empowering Intecom's Conversics software, which serves to unify the interaction between companies and their customers.
An IP-enabled PointSpan system is priced competitively with a traditional circuit-switched telephony system on a cost-per-line basis, says Pat Aubert, VP of marketing for Intecom.
The PointSpan's primary components include the disaster tolerant Enterprise Telephony Server and IP Node. PointSpan utilizes IP for internal signaling and control. PointSpan nodes can be deployed at geographically dispersed locations and linked as a unified system using an IP network and/or a circuit-switched network for control and signaling in any combination.
