TiVo and Google announced an expanded multi-year patent license agreement that includes the tech giant’s OTT video service, YouTube TV.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

TiVo said the agreement covers Google’s use of TiVo’s patented technologies worldwide, and offers a license for Google products and services across web-based platforms and devices.

The new deal comes as TiVo presses on with patent lawsuits against Comcast.

Last week, TiVo hit Comcast with two new lawsuits alleging that a host of features on the cable giant’s X1 platform infringe on Rovi Corp., a TiVo unit, patents.

Comcast, for its part, said its own engineers independently created the X1 products and services, and that it will “aggressively defend” itself against the lawsuit.
