The Xfinity Prepaid Internet Service is now available across Comcast’s entire service area, the company announced on Thursday. There are no credit checks or annual contracts, and the pay-as-you go option offers subscribers either seven- or 30-day options. It’s available online and at participating Boost Mobile locations.

“Unbanked” customers – those who don’t have a savings or checking account – are a core target here. Comcast points to a 2015 FDIC survey that suggests around 9 million U.S. households were unbanked, and 24.5 million were "underbanked," meaning they had a bank account but also obtained financial products and services outside of the banking system.

Xfinity Prepaid Internet requires a one-time starter kit fee that includes a wireless gateway and 30 days of service and goes for $80. For refills, seven days of service runs $15, and the 30-day option costs $45.

Comcast also reports that it expects to relaunch an Xfinity Prepaid Video Service across the company’s footprint later this year.
