Comcast today unveiled the pricing for its Gigabit Pro service.

The service will run $299.95 per month and will require a two-year commitment. Comcast says that the service will also require up to $500 for installation and up to another $500 for activation. Installation could take six to eight weeks to complete.

But Comcast is confirming that Gigabit Pro will be available at a promotional price of $159, still well above the cost of most available gigabit services.

The symmetrical service is rolling out across parts of California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Tennessee. Large cities eligible for the service include Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, Miami and San Francisco.

Gigabit Pro is not currently available to bundle with other Comcast services like Xfinity TV.
