Time Warner Cable Business Class said it has received Carrier Ethernet (CE) 2.0 certifications from the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) for its Wholesale E-Access (Access EPL/Access EVPL) services.
TWCBC said it has now earned MEF CE 2.0 certifications for all eight service configurations.
In January, TWCBC was certified for the retail service types: E-Line (EPL/EVPL), E-LAN (EP-LAN/EVP-LAN) and E-Tree (EP-Tree/EVP-Tree). The company also has a total of 81 MEF-certified employees, 24 of whom are CE 2.0 certified.
“As North America’s first and only provider with all eight CE 2.0 certifications, Time Warner Cable Business Class provides reliable, scalable, and feature-rich Ethernet services. MEF is the recognized defining body for Carrier Ethernet and their certification provides assurance that we’re delivering high performing, standards-compliant solutions to meet the complex networking needs of our customers,” said Phil Meeks, TWCBC’s executive vice president and chief operating officer. “We are committed to being the number one choice for commercial services and this recognition is part of our continuing effort to move up market and provide targeted solutions for mid-market and enterprise organizations, as well as for carrier partners by delivering wholesale service.”
TWCBC’s Wholesale E-Access services are delivered through over 75 External Network-to-Network Interface (ENNI) locations across the company’s footprint.
TWCBC owns and operates a 147,000 fiber-route-mile network infrastructure in more than 30 major metro markets nationwide with over 58,000 fiber-lit buildings. Wholesale E- Access speeds range from 5 Mbps to 10 Gbps (speeds available in most areas) and is backed by industry leading Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
“CE 2.0 is a highly challenging and significant accreditation to achieve and creates an important standard of deployment for the marketplace. Therefore we’re happy to see Time Warner Cable Business Class become the first North American company to receive all eight certifications,” said Nan Chen, President, MEF.
