Starting March 4, Time Warner Cable will launch its theme-based digital channel lineup in some areas of Maine and New Hampshire.
The new channel lineup makes it easier for subscribers to find the content and shows they want by grouping channels together into similar genres, such as sports, news, music, kids/teens and premium channels. In the same vein, VOD content will be located on channels 1,000 and up in genre categories.
The new lineups will be launched in York County and Cumberland County, Maine and in central and northern New Hampshire.
“Our new, theme-based lineup will make it much simpler and easier for our customers to navigate through the lineup,” said Paul Schonewolf, area vice president of operations at Time Warner Cable. “And with the new lineup, customers with an HD box will automatically receive the HD feed of the corresponding standard-definition channel, providing the best picture available.”
All parental control and DVR settings will transition automatically, so customers don’t have to worry about reprogramming their parental control settings or losing recordings of their favorite shows. There’s no change for basic channels that are below channel 100.
Time Warner Cable started offering the theme-based channel groupings four years ago.
