Shaw Communications has launched A&E’s app to give its Shaw Cable and Shaw Direct authenticated subscribers TV Everywhere access to shows such as “Duck Dynasty,” “Storage Wars,” and “Rodeo Girls.”
The A&E app, which launched Thursday, works on iOS, Android and Kindle devices, and is available online.
"The launch of the A&E app is another step in our continued dedication to providing our customers choice in how and where they wish to access their favorite programs and content," said Jay Mehr, executive vice president and chief operating officer, Shaw Communications. "A popular network among our cable and satellite customers, we're pleased to offer the A&E app to our Shaw Cable and Shaw Direct subscribers at no extra cost."
Shaw said the A&E app featured an easy-to-navigate display, the ability to create a customized list of favorite shows and access to behind-the-scenes interviews and footage.
In the coming months, Shaw said it would expand the Shaw Go service, which Shaw initially launched two years ago with HBO, with additional content offerings.
Shaw Internet customers west of Ontario can tap into the A&E offerings through the Shaw Go Wi-Fi service. Customers can view the content on more than 20,000 Wi-Fi hot spots across Shaw's footprint.
