The Metro Ethernet Forum announced today that Comcast and Verizon were the big winners in its Carrier Ethernet Awards for the North American region.

In the “Best Carrier Ethernet Business Application” category, Comcast Business topped fellow finalists AT&T and Level 3. The award recognized partnerships between service providers and their clients in the delivery of Carrier Ethernet services for application verticals.

Comcast’s winning application involved MEF CE 2.0 certified services provided to the Denver Broncos professional football organization to meet the growing data demands and provide their fans with an improved experience at the Broncos’ Sports Authority Field at Mile High.

Comcast Business also won the “Best Marketing” award, which goes to the service provider that has run the most successful marketing campaign to promote its Ethernet service portfolio in the period from September 2012 onward. This includes assessment of marketing campaign goals and objectives, how companies differentiated their services, and the results gained.
