Cable One said it has begun offering a whole-home video distribution service, based TiVo DVRs.
The company had previously announced that it was going to use the TiVo systems.
With this new Whole Home DVR service, Cable One customers can start watching a recorded show in one room, hit pause, and finish in another; record four HD shows at once with up to 650 hours of recording time; and search for content by title, actor, category or keyword using the Advanced TiVo Guide.
Cable One vice president of marketing Joe Felbab said, “Customers can also take their shows anywhere in the house or on the road with the TiVo Stream. Content can now be downloaded from home to a Wi-Fi tablet or device, so they can watch what they want, when they want, where they want.”
TiVo has had a run of success, tallying orders from Cable One, Atlantic Broadband, Mediacom, RCN, Grande Communications, GCI, and Midcontinent. The company also has supply deals with Comcast, Charter Communications, and Virgin Media.
