This morning Synacor laid claim to being the first vendor in the industry to launch an in-home white label auto authentication platform for TV Everywhere services.
Auto authentication would reduce one of the chokepoints of deploying multi-screen services, and Synacor’s offering recognizes a user’s broadband network-based pay-TV account for at-home mobile access or connects via a user’s social media login.
The auto authentication feature is part of Synacor’s Cloud ID platform, which is slated for release in the first quarter of next year. On the social media front, log ins and connections can be made by customers using their existing Facebook, Twitter and Google+ accounts.

Synacor plans on adding additional features to its Cloud ID Social Login platform including; online pay TV accounts that are paired with social IDs, TV Everywhere fraud prevention via video stream limiting and session throttling, expanded single sign on (SSO) with open ID support for partners, and authentication and authorization for mobile TV Everywhere app developers.
