Cox Communications announced today that it has tapped seasoned telecom executive Steve Rowley to lead Cox Business.
Rowley replaced Phil Meeks as the head of Cox Business following the departure of Phil Meeks to Time Warner Cable earlier this year.
As senior vice president of Cox Business, Rowley is responsible for the strategic direction of the high growth division that will deliver approximately $1.6 billion this year. He oversees all sales, operations, product development and marketing for business customers, including wholesale services for telecom carriers.
Prior to the promotion, Rowley served as vice president of Cox Business responsible for sales and operations in the company’s western markets. While in this role, he oversaw the local strategic planning, sales performance, back office systems, customer installations and capital investment.
Prior to joining Cox in 2010, he served as vice president of partners channels, vice president of enterprise and vice president of general business at Sprint as well as a variety of leadership roles at People’s Choice TV.
“Steve’s diverse sales and operational telecom experience and his intimate knowledge of our organization and market opportunities will allow him to set the vision for Cox Business and help ensure consistent growth in the segment for years to come,” said Mark Bowser, executive vice president and chief financial officer.
