ThinkAnalytics has signed up to integrate its TV recommendations engine with Microsoft’s Mediaroom IPTV partner program.
With ThinkAnalytics’ recommendations engine, IPTV providers will be able to deliver more meaningful content recommendations and navigation features across multiple screens.

"Our ability to build multiple profiles per set-top box allows us to have unique recommendations for each person in a household. Bringing together live TV metadata with set-top box viewing histories, combined with Mediaroom TV services, delivers very compelling and richer discovery and recommendations results for any video-enabled device."
Mediaroom-powered TV services are being offered by more than 40 video operators worldwide, delivering services to more than eight million consumer households, equaling more than 16 million set-top boxes deployed throughout the Americas, EMEA and APAC. Operator partners including AT&T, Deutsche Telekom and Telus are among Mediaroom’s customers base, although today’s press release didn’t say what operators would be using ThinkAnalytics’ recommendations engine.
Liberty Global is using ThinkAnalytics’ recommendations engine in its recently launched Horizon TV service. The recommendations engine has also been deployed by more than 25 other service providers, including, BSkyB, Virgin Media, ITV, and Telenet, and currently delivers its Intelligent Navigation platform to more than 70 million licensed subscribers across the globe.
ThinkAnalytics uses multiple algorithms to proactively collect personalized viewing information across a range of devices, including set-top boxes, smartphones and tablets. ThinkAnalytics unifies this information across a video operator’s user interface to provide personalized, as opposed to household, viewing recommendations.
