Cogeco Cable has expanded its relationship with Rovi by signing on to use Rovi Video, which provides metadata collections for TV shows and movies across set-top boxes, mobile devices and on the Internet.
Using Rovi Video, Cogeco customers can access English and French profiles of Canadian and international celebrities. Rovi Video includes high-resolution images that can be viewed across Cogeco’s cable TV product lines. The end result is a personalized viewing experience for Cogeco subscribers.
Rovi provides metadata that includes descriptive information on more than 4 million TV shows, movies and sporting events. The Rovi Video deal expanded on previous agreements between the two companies.
"Discovery is a crucial piece in the TV viewing experience. As we build out our offerings in content, quality and services, we want our customers to be able to easily find the content they want to watch," said Ron Perrotta, vice president of marketing and strategic planning at Cogeco Cable. "We've relied on Rovi, with their extensive experience in guides and data, to continue to bring us innovative technologies to further advance our subscriber experience."
