Charter Communications has continued its trend of hiring former Cablevision executives, but it has also added one from Time Warner Cable.

Charter announced that Tom Adams, formerly with Time Warner Cable, has been hired as executive vice president of field operations, while former Cablevision executive Kathleen “Kip” Mayo has come onboard as executive vice president of customer operations.

Adams will have national oversight of field operations, while Mayo has responsibility for Charter's customer care organization.

Mayo will join CEO Tom Rutledge, chief marketing officer Jonathan Hargis and chief operating officer John Bickham at Charter after previously working with them at Cablevision.

Adams starts his new job on Oct. 1, while Mayo joined Charter yesterday. Adams and Mayo both report to Bickham. Rutledge, Hargis and Bickham are based in a New York metro area office that Charter opened recently. Adams and Mayo will work in the New York offices, as well as in Charter’s St. Louis headquarters and its Denver office.

Mayo was with Cablevision for 15 years, and her most recent role there was executive vice president of consumer operations, with responsibility for field operations, customer service, and billing and collections. Mayo resigned from Cablevision in March.

"Kip's dedication to providing great customer service and her experience in leading all aspects of cable operations will complement the skills and experience of her colleagues on our customer care and operations teams," Bickham said.

Adams joins Charter after a 17-year stint with Time Warner Cable, most recently serving as regional vice president of operations for Wisconsin. Prior to TWC, Adams worked for NewChannels in various leadership roles, including vice president of new business.

"With more than 30 years experience in all aspects of the cable industry, Tom's insightful leadership will be critical in achieving our company goals," said Bickham.
