Cablevision has brought Sandra Kapell onboard to fill the newly created position of executive vice president of human resources and administration.
Kapell will lead the human resources and administrative areas of Cablevision, providing leadership in the design and implementation of policies and practices. Specifically, she will oversee general human resources, talent staffing and recruitment, employee training, and development and growth, as well as executive compensation and recruiting.
She will report to Cablevision President and CEO Jim Dolan.
"At Cablevision, our employees are our greatest asset, and their talent and commitment has helped us to achieve tremendous success,” Dolan said. “For this reason, it is important to welcome a leader with Kapell's track record of accomplishments in the areas of organizational effectiveness and leadership management. We look forward to working with her as we continue to invest in our employees."
Before Cablevision, Kapell served as senior vice president and chief human resources officer of Chartis, an AIG company and the world's largest property and casualty insurer, where she worked on a number of initiatives for the firm, including the recruitment of several key executives, the implementation of the company's first-ever succession planning process for the board of directors and the launch of the company's management development curriculum.
Prior to joining Chartis, she was senior vice president in the practice development group of MetLife for five years, where she oversaw all aspects of leadership development, sales training, financial planning, special needs planning and the advanced markets legal group.
Kapell has also served in numerous senior human resources roles, including chief operating officer/director of human resources of Westport Resources Investment Services and global head of administration and strategy of Futures International.
