The National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications recently announced the winners of its 2012 Next Generation Leaders Awards.

This year's recipients included Rosalyn Durant, vice president of ESPNU and ESPNHS at ESPN; Sree Kotay, senior vice president and chief software architect at Comcast; Fernando Laguarda, vice president of external affairs and policy counselor at Time Warner Cable; and Pawan Mehra, co-founder and executive vice president of Ameredia.

The awards will be presented at the NAMIC Annual Awards Breakfast on May 23 at the Westin Boston Waterfront in Boston.

The awards recognize emerging executives of color, including business leaders that demonstrate exceptional managerial acumen while embracing NAMIC's mission to educate, advocate and empower for diversity and inclusion in the communications industry. Irene Esteves, executive vice president and chief financial officer at Time Warner Cable, is this year's honorary chair of the NAMIC Annual Awards Breakfast.

In addition to the top honorees, a group of NAMIC Luminaries will also be recognized.

The following executives were selected as NAMIC Luminaries: Michelle Bailey, vice president of corporate market research at BET Networks; Berto Guzman, vice president of affiliate sales and marketing at nuvoTV; Aljit Joy, senior vice president of strategy and product development at Comcast; Superna Kalle, senior vice president of networks and general manager of Sony Movie Channel at Sony Pictures Television; Erika Kennair, vice president of scripted development at Syfy/NBCUniversal; Rodrigo Lopez, regional vice president of the Mountain Region at Comcast; Guhan Selvaretnam, senior vice president of product, content and operations, and digital media at Discovery Communications; Tina Shah, assistant general counsel at Turner Broadcasting System; Emory Walton, vice president of distribution field sales at A+E Networks; Crystal Washington, vice president of external relations and diversity and inclusion at Scripps Networks Interactive; Cheryl Wingate, vice president of talent acquisition at Time Warner Cable's East Region; and Ninoska Zucconi, vice president of marketing services, distribution sales and marketing at Univision Communications.

Since the inception of the award in 2006, NAMIC has recognized 24 Next Generation Leaders and 51 Luminaries.
