Verizon Wireless and Comcast are extending their joint marketing program to several more Comcast markets, including Atlanta, Chicago, Kansas City, Minneapolis-St. Paul, and Salt Lake City, as well as in Colorado.
This is another set of cities outside of Verizon’s traditional telephony region, meaning there’s little chance of direct competition with Verizon products, including FiOS. In essence, the deal allows Comcast to bundle Verizon Wireless’ LTE wireless broadband service.
Depending which package new or existing customers choose, subscribers could qualify for a variety of offers and incentives, including: Visa prepaid cards valued between $50 and $300 and a "double your data package" offer. The double-your-data offer provides a complementary 12-month upgrade to Blast!, the Xfinity Internet service that provides download speeds of up to 30 Mbps with PowerBoost, and a doubling of a 4G LTE data plan from Verizon Wireless.
Earlier this year, Verizon Wireless and Comcast launched in San Francisco, Seattle and Portland, Ore.
Rich Jennings, regional vice president for Comcast's Mile High Region, said, "Now, both current and new Comcast customers across the Denver metro area and Colorado Springs will have the option of building a great in-home experience through our Xfinity services, along with the reliability of Verizon Wireless' network while on the go."
