Jonathan Hargis has resigned from his position as Cablevision’s executive vice president of marketing and will leave the cable operator’s employ later this month.
“I am enormously proud of success I was part of achieving at Cablevision,” Hargis said. “The years I spent at Cablevision will always be among the most productive and rewarding of my career. I had the opportunity to work with some great and talented people, and I leave behind many friends and valued colleagues.”
Hargis is the latest Cablevision executive to exit the company. Tom Rutledge left his position as Cablevision’s chief operating officer in December prior to being named as Charter Communications’ CEO the same month. Also late last year, president of cable operations John Bickham left Cablevision.
In Cablevision’s recent fourth-quarter and year-end earnings call, CEO Jim Dolan said he would actively run Cablevision and that there was no plan to replace Rutledge in the foreseeable future.
Hargis came onboard at Cablevision in 2000 and subsequently played a key role in the company’s marketing efforts during a period of growth, competitive success and technological leadership, according to Cablevision.
“Jon has been a valued contributor to our company and has played an important role in developing and defining our Optimum products and offers in a competitive marketplace,” Dolan said. “We are thankful for his time here and wish him well.”
Earlier this week, Cablevision announced that Kelly McAndrew was hired as its vice president of corporate communications. McAndrew reports to Charlie Schueler, Cablevision’s executive vice president of media and community relations.
In her new job, McAndrew is charged with developing and executing communications activities in support of the company’s corporate strategy, financial performance and key corporate developments. She will also be responsible for guiding the media relations activities of Cablevision’s local media properties, which include Newsday, News 12 Networks and MSG Varsity, as well as Clearview Cinemas. In addition, she now directs Cablevision’s charitable activities.
Prior to joining Cablevision, McAndrew served as senior vice president of corporate communications at Viacom.
