Arris has added support for the Android OS to its WorkAssure Workforce Management system for service provider customers whose technicians and installers are adopting Android-based mobile devices as work tools.
“Operators are beginning to phase out existing handheld devices and are purchasing new Android devices because of the user-friendly features,” said Gary Cunha, Arris’ senior director of assurance solutions product line management. “We want to do everything we can to make technicians in the field as productive as possible, so to that end, WorkAssure’s comprehensive mobile support can now be extended to a variety of handheld devices and tablets that use the Android OS platform.”
WorkAssure is designed to help operators streamline operations through workflow improvements that increase productivity, reduce errors, and improve reliability and quality.
The product is in current use by more than 40,000 cable broadband technicians, according to Arris’ calculation, and is auto routing more than 110 million work orders per year.
