Time Warner Cable recently added 20 new HD channels in the Dallas area to give it a total offering of 134 HD channels.
The new HD channels included are E! HD, Oxygen HD, OWN HD, Showtime movie channels, Fox Deportes HD, IFC HD and Bloomberg Television HD.
"These HD channel additions are just the latest in product and service enhancements we've rolled out in Dallas during the latter part of 2011," said Steve Dvoskin, area vice president of operations for Time Warner Cable in North Texas. "We are committed to bringing the most advanced technology to our Dallas customers so they can continue to be connected to the latest HD programming, entertainment and each other."
Digital subscribers with an HD set-top box and the required level of service for premium channels, such as Showtime, can view the new HD channel offerings.
Time Warner Cable has been busy this year in Dallas, which is also where AT&T has its headquarters. Time Warner Cable also started offering its white-glove SignatureHome service in the Dallas area this year, as well as completed the rollout of its DOCSIS 3.0-based Wideband Internet data tier.
Over the past six months, Time Warner Cable also increased the speeds for Road Runner Standard customers, taking them to 10 Mbps down and 1 Mbps up from the previous speeds of 7 Mbps/512 kbps.
