After 22 years, Mike Schwartz is leaving his position as senior vice president of communications for CableLabs.
In regard to leaving CableLabs, Schwartz said this morning that it was a mutual decision between himself and CableLabs.
His departure was announced last week internally at Louisville, Colo.-based CableLabs. He is staying on as a consultant to help find his successor, as well as work on a new framework for CableLabs' communications department.
Schwartz said he is signed up as CableLabs' consultant through July and August but anticipated that he would be finished at the end of this month.
CableLabs was founded in 1988 by members of the cable operator industry. The laboratory is a non-profit research and development consortium that is dedicated to pursuing new cable telecommunications technologies, including specifications, and to helping its cable operator members integrate those advancements into their business objectives.
