Cox Communications said that by the end of the year, it will have mobile service available in just over half of its footprint, after rolling out Cox Wireless in markets in California, Kansas and Arkansas.
Cox said it will introduce wireless service in San Diego and Santa Barbara in California, in Topeka and Wichita in Kansas, and also in northwest Arkansas.
The company is using Sprint's 3G CDMA EVDO Rev A network to provision its wireless offering.
Cox has just introduced wireless, accompanied by its "Unbelievably Fair" marketing campaign for the service, in Roanoke and northern Virginia.
Cox Wireless is currently also available in Hampton Roads, Va., Orange County, Calif., Omaha, Neb., Oklahoma City and Tulsa, Okla., Rhode Island and Cox communities in Connecticut and Cleveland, Ohio.
