The Cable Center announced that four new members were recently elected to three-year terms on its board of directors.

The new board members are: Kimberly Edmunds, senior vice president of customer operations for Cox Communications; Peter Kalan, president and CEO of CSG Systems; Paul Liao, president and CEO of CableLabs; and Josh Sapan, president and CEO of Rainbow Media Holdings.

Edmunds joined Cox in 1996 and before that served for 10 years in customer service management roles. Edmunds also serves on the board of directors for Rainbows United and Big Brothers & Big Sisters. She is an active member of Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) and is a fellow of its Betsy Magness Leadership Institute.

Kalan joined CSG in 1997 and has held numerous executive leadership positions for the organization before being named chief executive officer and president. He was also elected to the board in 2007.

Paul Liao joined CableLabs as president and CEO from Panasonic of North America. Liao heads the research and development organization responsible for charting the cable television industry's course in technology.

Sapan joined Rainbow Media in 1987 as president of AMC and Bravo and was promoted to chief operating officer in 1991. He became chief executive officer in 1995. Sapan serves on numerous entertainment industry boards, including: the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing Education Foundation, the National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC) Foundation, the International Radio and Television Society Foundation (IRTS), and the Museum of the Moving Image.

He was last year's recipient of a National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA) Vanguard Award for programmers and a past winner of CTAM's GrandTAM Award. He was inducted into the Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame in 2009.
