Cox Communications has renewed its contract with customer care and billing vendor Convergys.
Cox, the nation's third-largest cable operator, uses Convergys' Smart BSS Solutions for its back office, customer care and billing.
Convergys said it has been a BSS supplier to Cox Communications for 26 years. Under the renewed agreement, Convergys will continue to provide long-term billing services to Cox's 6 million residential and commercial video, voice and data customers. The length of the contract with Cox, as well as the financial terms, wasn't available.
"Cox has built its business on exceeding customer expectations; the billing support we receive from Convergys helps us to do that," said George Richter, vice president of supply chain management for Cox. "This latest contract renewal is a strong vote of confidence for the key role Convergys' cable solutions will continue to play in enabling Cox to differentiate itself on the superior service we provide our customers."
Convergys said Cox was the third contract renewal in North America this year for its cable platform, which supports eight of the top 15 cable, broadband and satellite providers in the United States.
