Verismo Networks said the latest version of its VuNow platform – a combination of the company's back-end server, set-top boxes and software – will have the ability to add linear channels to over-the-top and on-demand content, live channels from around the world, and social applications supported by previous versions of the product.
VuNow can also deliver content and applications directly to the TV instead of the PC.
The Verismo platform supports digital rights management and electronic program guides and is capable of providing VoIP, Internet access with a built-in broadband router and whole-house DVR.
Personal media can be accessed through the home network or by connecting a USB drive.
"We are offering a solution that enables service providers to quickly expand their reach globally – bringing them unprecedented revenue opportunities with minimal investment," said Dhaval Ajmera, executive vice president of marketing and sales at Verismo Networks. "The fully customizable solution allows fast time to market with cool new Internet applications that offer unparalleled opportunities for differentiation."
