Just in case you’re not getting enough time on Facebook while at work, earlier in the week, Cox Communications announced it had launched a Facebook page for its Hampton Roads, Va., system.
The new Facebook page, which had 224 fans as of this morning, provides updates on new promotions and service offerings and community activities, as well as a way for subscribers to interact with the company.
"The use of social media – from blogs to Facebook and Twitter accounts – has grown tremendously by our customers,” said Leigh Woisard, Cox’s vice president of public affairs. “With our new Facebook page, we are offering yet another way for our customers to engage and interact with us. We hope that our customers think it's different, unique and fun – and most of all a useful tool as they sort through all of the digital technology and entertainment now available to them."
Cox's new Facebook page contains various features, including:
- Three special tabs called “In the Home,” “In the Community” and “In Business” that each contain targeted information for residential, business and community audiences
- A "Who Said That" contest game, which is located on the In the Home tab, that provides chances to win prizes by participating
- Tips on Cox content and service upgrades
- A review of Cox’s "My Primetime" feature is also discussed.
