This year’s Battle of the Bands fundraiser during the NCTA’s Cable Show will be headlined by a band comprising stars from TV shows called Band From TV.

The third-annual CableCares “Battle of the Bands” charity fundraiser is scheduled for May 11 at 8:30 p.m. at Club Nokia in downtown Los Angeles.

Jesse SpencerBand From TV features Greg Grunberg (drums), from “Heroes”; James Denton (guitar), from “DesperateHousewives”; Adrian Pasdar (guitar), also from “Heroes”; Bob Guiney (vocals), who appeared on “The Bachelor” and is currently the host of “GSN Live”; Jesse Spencer (violin), currently in “House”; and Scott Grimes, who has starred on “ER” and “American Dad.”

The primary beneficiary of CableCares’ efforts this year is A Place Called Home, a non-profit youth center in South Central Los Angeles. In addition, Band From TV has also designated several charities to receive support, including: National Epilepsy Foundation, The Art of Elysium, The Indiana University – Kenya Partnership, Rush University Medical Center Epilepsy Foundation, The Conservation Fund and Lupus LA.

“We deeply appreciate that the members of Band From TV are donating their time and efforts to help support a number of great causes,” said Barbara York, senior vice president of industry affairs for the NCTA. “This spirit of giving is a perfect complement to the mission of CableCares, which has raised nearly a half million dollars in the past two years to benefit the host communities for The Cable Show – communities also served by cable industry companies.”
