Cox Communications of Hampton Roads, Va., announced today the hiring of Thomas Watkins as its new director of sales for Cox Business.

In his new role, Watkins will lead the Cox Business sales team to promote Cox business offerings for voice, Internet and video for small, medium and large businesses. He also will promote Cox Business products to educational, government and other specific markets in Hampton Roads.

In addition to these roles, Cox said Watkins will also develop strategies and processes that support Cox Hampton Roads and are in alignment with the company’s corporate strategies.

Prior to joining Cox, Watkins was the regional director of sales of Jobfox Inc. in Atlanta, where he generated new revenue streams of more than $100,000 annually.

He was also with CoStar Group as regional vice president. Watkins also worked with communications companies such as Level 3 Communications, Genuity and GTE Internetworking.
