Itaas has added four new members to the roster of companies in its istart ETV Developer Program.

Alcatel-Lucent, iCueTV, Integra5 and Tellytopia, will join the existing members, who use the Enhanced Binary Interchange Format (EBIF) platform, to develop applications for potential deployment to over 20 million digital subscribers.

Companies who join the istart ETV Developer Program gain access to tools, documentation, software upgrades and support for the TVWorks, a joint venture between Comcast and Cox.

The istart program gives members the ability to write applications to tru2way and ETV platforms. It also includes software development kits (SDKs) and support for Time Warner Cable's Mystro Digital Navigator (MDN) and OCAP Digital Navigator (ODN), as well as Scientific Atlanta’s Resident Application (SARA)/ PowerTV.

By choosing one or more SDKs, developers can write applications to target the entire digital STB market, including both legacy and next generation platforms, according to itaas.
