Suddenlink Communications is working with Synacor – an Internet tools and portal company for the cable and telecom industries – to launch a new online customer portal that will offer a more personalized, graphical and interactive user interface for Suddenlink subscribers.

The enhanced portal homepage will expand and improve more than 650,000 subscribers’ online experiences, and it will allow Suddenlink customers to access videos, e-mail, Google search, the latest news and entertainment, customized television listings, weather forecasts and other localized content with a single log-in.

“Our new customer portal is an important part of Suddenlink’s overall strategy to enhance the online customer experience, which is critical in today’s increasingly competitive environment,” said Scott Terrill, vice president of marketing for Suddenlink. “Synacor’s interactive layout will provide our customers with a convenient way to access dynamic content – at no extra cost to them.”

The portal also includes “@ The WaterCooler,” a new pop culture component that will deliver up-to-the-minute “buzz” on topical broadband content such as video, games and music, Suddenlink said.

Suddenlink Communications is a top-10 U.S. cable broadband provider that serves approximately 1.3 million customers in North Carolina, West Virginia, Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, California and elsewhere.
