Integra5 announced today that it is one of eight companies that will be featured at The Cable Center’s second-annual “Cable Today & Tomorrow” exhibit next week in Denver.
Integra5 will be demonstrating applications from its i5 Converged Services Platform, which include caller ID on TVs and caller ID on PCs.
The interactive showcase kicks off on Wednesday with the exhibit coinciding with three days of “Cable Days” that include the 2008 Cable Hall of Fame induction dinner.
In addition to Integra5, Digeo, Westell, Tendril, Lasershield, 4Home and Schlage, and Ensequence are scheduled to take part in the exhibit.
“‘Cable Today & Tomorrow’ represents the industry’s commitment to delivering transformative, present-day communications technologies while exploring the potential of future advancements,” said Larry Satkowiak, president and CEO of The Cable Center. “We selected Integra5’s converged services for this year’s exhibit based on their ability to deliver value and simplicity to consumers’ lives through a blended communications experience across TVs, PCs, and mobile and landline phones.”
In August, Integra5 unveiled its MediaFriends TV Chat service (story here) and demonstrated it at the CableLabs Summer Conference in Keystone, Colo. MediaFriends TV Chat allows viewers to chat while watching the same TV program. While Integra5 is working on spreading MediaFriends to PCs and TVs, the first function allows viewers to watch a show together while sharing text messages in real time.
