The Sprint Mobile Broadband Network has upgraded with EV-DO Revision A technology in Charlotte, N.C.; Cincinnati/Dayton, Ohio; Norfolk, Va.; and Spokane, Wash.
Rev. A allows for faster average download speeds of 600 Kbps to 1.4 Mbps (from 400-700 Kbps), and average upload speeds of 350-500 Kbps (compared with 50-70 Kbps on current EV-DO networks), the company said.
The Sprint Mobile Broadband Network reaches more than 209 million people in more than 10,600 communities, as well as 1,010 airports, the company said.
Sprint will continue to upgrade its network to the faster EV-DO Revision A technology in the future.
