For some fantasy football fanatics in Green Bay, long gone are the days of toggling their time between the television and the PC in order to track the progress of their fantasy football teams.

Time Warner Cable, in partnership with BIAP Systems, has launched a system there that automatically tracks the stats of their fantasy football teams and makes them available on the television screen.

The platform incorporates BIAP's "intelligent interactive" set-top software, which uses out-of-band signaling techniques to obtain game scores, injury reports and stats from various players via the Internet and other sources. Depending on the preference of the customer, the information can be viewed as a scrolling ticker, full screen or in 3/4 screen format.

Time Warner expects to launch the application in additional markets this year.

The fantasy football effort marks the latest iTV collaboration between the MSO and BIAP. In May, Time Warner launched a TV-based eBay application that enabled digital customers in Austin, Texas to monitor their bids, and to be notified if they were outbid. Initially, the MSO offered the eBay app on DVR-capable set-tops.
