PacketCable Multimedia (PCMM) specialist Camiant Inc. has opened an international sales office in London, and has tapped Phil Sorsky to run it.
As vice president, Sorsky will head up marketing, sales, business development and customer support outside of the Americas. He has held executive slots with telecom companies and vendors such as British Telecom, AT&T and Cisco Systems. Sorsky most recently was a vice president with Telsima Inc., a provider of optical network and voice compression technologies.
"I am excited to join the Camiant team, as it seizes an important role in the international expansion of broadband services, and in the advance towards more sophisticated services such as video-enhanced telephony and IPTV," Sorsky said, in a release.
Among its wares, Camiant markets a policy server, which is a key element of PCMM, an emerging CableLabs-specified architecture that injects QoS into IP-based applications and services.
