Swedish vendor Ericsson has announced that it is delivering its Ethernet DSL Access solution to Swedish broadband provider Bredbandsbolaget, also known as B2.
Commenting on the contract award, B2 chief executive Peder Ramel underlined that "Ericsson's demonstrated leadership in IP/Ethernet-based DSL solutions...lets us move forward into the VDSL2 market, in line with our ambition of always being first with the fastest offerings for our customers."
Significance: The Ericsson deal will help cement B2's number two position in the Swedish broadband space. B2 currently has a 25 percent share of the market, with a residential subscriber base of 336,382 plus 9,269 business subscribers. It also claims to be Sweden's largest broadband telephony player, with 82,000 subscribers.
