Ryan O'Hara has been appointed president of the TV Guide Channel, where he will head up the channel and TV Guide SPOT, the company's new on-demand network.
O'Hara, who will continue to be based in Los Angeles, most recently was president of TVG Network, Gemstar-TV Guide's interactive horse racing network, which recently broke $100 million in quarterly wagering revenue.
O'Hara, who now reports to Gemstar-TV Guide CEO Rich Battista, will continue to oversee TVG until a successor is named.
O'Hara joined Gemstar-TV Guide in 2002 as senior vice president, business development and strategic planning. Before that, he served as director of interactive television strategy at BSkyB.
