Netopia Inc. has launched a line of voice, video and data gateways based on the VDSL and VDSL2 platforms.

The company's MiAVo line of "triple play" gateways will become available in late August. The VDSL2 standard is designed to support throughputs up to 100 Mbps - enough for multiple streams of IP video - over copper lines.

Among the VDSL gateways, Netopia is offering versions with four-port Ethernet switches for connection to IP devices, including set-tops, as well as models with integrated WiFi support.

All of Netopia's gateways are powered by Conexant Systems' "Accelity" VDSL/VDSL2 CPE chipsets.
