NTL is wading into the phone calls price war, but remains tight-lipped on its looming merger with Telewest.
Boss Simon Duffy is slicing Pounds 2 from two of its most popular calls packages to hit back at rival deals.
The cable firm added 58,100 customers in the last three months, making a total of 3.2m. Telewest is picking advisers this week in New York for the merger, which would create a powerful rival to BSkyB and BT.
