Direcway said it will offer improved network security on its broadband satellite platform following a deal with Sandvine Inc.

Direcway, a division of Hughes Network Systems Inc., will use Sandvine's Attack Traffic Mitigation platform to help detect worms, denial of service attacks and other network troublemakers.

"Sandvine's approach allows us to mitigate attack traffic from a central point in the network to protect the broadband experience for our subscribers," said Dave Zatloukal, vice president of North American Network Services at Hughes Network Systems.
