Adelphia Communications is using gear from C-COR Inc. to support the MSO's first foray into digital program insertion (DPI).
Adelphia said it initially will offer DPI capabilities in its San Juan, Puerto Rico property, which offers 40 analog and more than six digital channels. C-COR's platform, which it now markets following the acquisition of nCUBE Corp., supports both digital and analog insertion.
"As we continue to incorporate more digital channels for ad insertion, it is critical to have a platform in place that supports our current analog services as well as digital program insertion," said Marwan Fawaz, Adelphia's senior vice president and CTO, in a statement.
C-COR said its digital ad equipment presently supports more than 90 deployments.
